Whales of Xunaa (Hoonah) is a locally owned and operated Marine Wildlife Excursion operating out of Hoonah Alaska, 1.4 miles from Icy Strait Point. We have set up online booking services for the 2026 whale watching season to make it easy for you to book.

OUR TOURS

We are a small boat experience rated to carry a maximum of 6 passengers (this includes babies sitting on your lap). Our vessel is a 27’ Safeboat with twin Yamaha 250s with a covered back deck to shield you from the elements but still giving you a great view.

The price per person is $195 + Local Sales Tax.

And yes Humpback Whales sightings are guaranteed!

In addition to Humpback whales, our guests will typically see Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Porpoise and occasionally Killer Whales.

Whale watching in Hoonah is an incredible experience.

Nature At Its Best

Not only will our passengers spot humpback whales, they will most likely encounter playful otters, bears along the shore, eagles in the trees, steller sea lions hanging around the channel buoys, and more!

Bear sightings are a regular occurance around Hoonah Alaska.

Steller sea lions are abundant in the Hoonah, Alaska, area.

Sea otter love to hang around the shores of Hoonah Alaska.

Bald eagles are plentiful in the Hoonah Alaska area.
